THE CHAINDA CENTER
Chainda slum in Lusaka, Zambia is an unplanned settlement of over 40,000 people who live on one square mile of land. Approximately 55% are under the age of eighteen! The average family (six family members) in Chainda lives on $2/day US dollars. There are many children who are orphans raised by sick grandparents that will never have the opportunity of education. As you can imagine, living and meeting basic needs is a challenge.
Today Christ Life Church provides 600 children a nutritious meal and education equivalent to Zambian public school five days a week. Each day children are met by leaders who remember their names, believe in the value of their life and are championing their futures.
But the need is great, and we have outgrown our current location capacity.
Great News! A new property has already been purchased with space to build a larger facility! This will allow us to serve 1,000+ children at one time, and host support programs for women, parents and families living in the slum community.
Together we can build the Chainda Center. Creating a space of hope, safety and opportunity in this Christ-centered environment!
Help us raise $80,000 to start construction this year!
Zambia is experiencing a historic drought that is having critical consequences. Help Christ Life Church provide food and water to the poor community of Chainda.
With your help we can complete construction on the new Chainda Center so we can feed and educate twice as many children and continue to provide bulk food and water to the slum.
