THE CHAINDA CENTER
Chainda slum in Lusaka, Zambia is an unplanned settlement of over 40,000 people who live on one square mile of land. Approximately 55% are under the age of eighteen! The average family (six family members) in Chainda lives on $1/day US dollars. There are many children who are orphans raised by sick grandparents that will never have the opportunity of education. As you can imagine, living and meeting basic needs is a challenge.
Today Christ Life Church provides 900 children a nutritious meal, basic healthcare, education equivalent to Zambian public school five days a week and the Gospel. Each day children are met by Christian leaders who remember their names, believe in the value of their life and are championing their futures.
On the weekend, the Center is transformed into a church where 900 adults and children attend for worship and to hear the Word of God.

Chainda Center Expands!
Another plot of land has been purchased in the Chainda Slum by a generous donor. This new land is five times larger than our current plot! We have begun the demo at the new site and are excited to build a new church. Watch our video!

March 2022, a US team visited the new Chainda Center and 500 guests.
Meeting in the New Building
We are able to meet in the new building while construction continues. We are feeding over 500 children once a week now.

Boy Abused
While visiting Chainda Slum, Christ Life Church found Micheal. This young boy had been abused by his mom who had cut off both one of his toes and fingers. Police arrested the mother and left the child with his sick grandmother. Christ Life Church adopted Micheal and his young sister and started providing food and educational support, as well as medication for the grandmother.

Christ Life Church was able to deliver much-needed breakfast meal, sugar and cooking oil to some of the families in Chainda.

Mulenga aka Santa
Pastor Mulenga visited The Chainda Center on Christmas day. Christ Life Church provided 230 meals and shared the good news of the birth of Jesus.

Chainda Health Center Renovated by Christ Life Church
Chainda Clinic is a government funded clinic that serves over 60,000 people. In July 2020, Christ Life Church reached out to the clinic with donations that helped the clinic staff serve the community better. The Church gave them buckets, washing and cleaning soaps, hundreds of face masks, sprayers for disinfecting the clinic, AA batteries for high blood pressure machines, washing buckets, hand sanitizers, and many other items.
