The Chainda Slum
Chainda slum in Lusaka, Zambia is an unplanned settlement of over 40,000 people who live on one square mile of land. Approximately 55% are under the age of eighteen! The average family (six family members) in Chainda lives on $1/day US dollars.
Christ Life selected the land for the first campus in close proximity to the slum to allow for easy outreach. Christ Life regularly visits the slum to offer care packages and the good news of Jesus. Service is held every Sunday in the Chainda Center and adult education is offered during the week.
Over 2,400 individuals benefited out of this project.
