Early Years

Mulenga L. Chella, the founding pastor of Christ Life Church, was born in Zambia, Africa. After completing high school he was called to serve God in ministry.

Since then, Mulenga has served in hospital ministry, street kids’ ministry, youth ministry, and as a teaching pastor. In 2002 he pastored his first church called Bread of Life Church Luanshya, after that Bread of Life Church Chankute (’03-’04), and Bread of Life Church Mpatamato (’05, ’09-’13).

Mulenga earned his Theology Diploma from Northrise University Zambia in 2005.

Prison

In 2006 Mulenga was wrongly imprisoned in Tanzania and spent two years awaiting trial for a crime he did not commit and of which he was subsequently acquitted.
This resulted in a spiritually formative time that God used to teach and humble Mulenga for fruitful ministry.

Earning his Doctorate

He then returned to Northrise University Zambia and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Theology in 2012. In May 2016 Mulenga graduated from Baylor University with a Masters in Divinity, then his Doctorate of Ministry at Baylor University’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary in May 2020.

Mulenga served as Pastor for Littleville Baptist Church in Hamilton Texas (2014-2016), and Adamsville Presbyterian Church in Adamsville Texas (2015 -2016). Cornerstone Christian Church Chandler AZ (June 2016 –January 2017).

Returning to Zambia

Mulenga is married to Hellen who is a licensed medical doctor in residency. They have a son named Joseph, a daughter named Lisa and a daughter named Abigail. They moved back to Zambia in 2018 to start Christ Life Church.

March 2016

Land purchased in 2016

Mulenga stands in the land purchased for the first Christ Life Church building.

February 2017

Back to Zambia

Mulenga, Hellen and their son Joseph Chella came back from the US in 2017 and immediately starting working on the planting of Christ Life Church in Zambia.

November 2017

Being Ordained

Mulenga was ordained for ministry by Pastor Linn Winters in 2017.

March 2018

First Gathering

Our first gathering was held on the first Sunday of March of 2018.

May 2022

Pastor Mulenga earns his Doctorate of Ministry

Pastor Mulenga Chella received his Doctorate from Baylor University in May 2020 but couldn’t attend graduation due to Covid. He finally got to walk the stage on Friday. Congratulations Dr. Chella!
